My 7-yo is learning to release the old to make room (and funds) for the new. He is wishing for some Lego City Sets, and he is willing to let his entire Fisher Price GeoTrax collection go. So, we are offering complete sets of passenger rail, rescue response, mining and construction themed GeoTrax, all in excellent clean condition, without boxes, from our smoke-free home. All pieces, with one exception, are in working order. (Please see note about the remote switch in the construction set.)
We have done our homework on www.maxgeotrax.com. We’ve been following ebay auctions for identical and similar items, and we’ve checked all the ebay BuyItNow and Amazon Marketplace prices. If you were to buy this entire collection instantly at currently available prices, you would pay nearly $200 with shipping (over $135 subtracting shipping costs from separate auctions). (The mountain is not even available for “instant purchase” at either ebay or Amazon, so I used a recent bidding end-price.) If you were to win all lowest ending-price individual auctions on ebay within the last week, you’d pay at least $132 for this collection. Many of these pieces are retired/discontinued. Some of these pieces are hard-to-find and in high demand, and some individual auctions are ending at *much* higher prices.
Note: All of these pieces are from 2003, prior to the recall on fire truck sets with lead paint. Our sets were *not* included in the recall. All of the sets are recommended for ages 2.5 and up. Each of the three remotes and each of the three engines requires three AAA batteries, not included.
The pieces in this enormous collection have universal appeal. The Crosstown Express is especially attractive because of its likeness to the Light Rail Train.
Since my son has his sights set on City Sets, we would like to receive a decent price for this set. The entire collection is yours immediately for $150. This is a win-win. I don’t have to list all my items on ebay and pack them for shipping, and you don’t have to sit and search ebay and play the wait-and-snipe-and-waitsomemore game.
Alternatively, my son will consider offers for individual pieces and sets that are competitive with the going prices on ebay or Amazon.
I prefer local pick-up, but I’ll consider shipping for the actual shipping cost plus a nominal fee for handling. Via FexEx Ground, depending on your location, this would cost approximately $15 for the whole set. For pieces or smaller sets, I would probably ship USPS Priority.
